This kit uses the PIC18F1320 microcontroller with 4k bytes of FLASH memory. This processor was chosen because of it's EUSART (Enhanced USART) which makes it LIN-bus compatible. You don't have to use this feature. In fact it is set up by default for standard RS-232.

The "KBD-1320-S" comes with all SMD devices pre-soldered, including 2.1mm power connector and the ICD-2 (RJ-11) connector. Use you own 9Vdc (center positive) power supply and you're ready to go!

The LCD and Keypad are reverse-mounted (back-side of PCB) to facilitate a more compact design.
