This kit uses the PIC18F8720 microcontroller
with 128k bytes of FLASH memory. This processor was chosen because
of a need for a large program memory space to accomodate the TCP/IP
protocol stack and complex applications.
Ethernet connection is via the Realtek 8019AS
ehternet controller chip and RJ-45 "MAC"-jack and transformer electronics.
Also available are external Flash, SRAM (battery-backed
up), Real-time clock/calendar and (2) serial ports. Application Examples:
